Screen Media – update

Posted in Screen Media on October 23, 2008 by Mikael Sorknæs

It was great seeing most of you on Monday for supervision and information about the rest of the course in Screen Media. Here is an outline of the plan I presented to you:.
Weeks 43, 44 & 45: Finish the course book except from chapter 10.
Week 46: Mandatory assignment in film analysis (film to be decided by me soon)
Week 47: Round up seminar, status of projects, deadline for assignment and I bring a cake!!! :-)
I expect to be back, maybe not in full gear, around week 45/46 but I expect that we will stick to the plan.
Also, I need the chapter notes from Lasse, Magnus, Simon and Zhou. Please mail them to me a.s.a.p. – the deadline is on Monday October 27th at 10 am.

Week 43: Production

Week 46: Production deadline
I hope to be back to some degree in week 45. Until then I will be an external consultant on your productions.

I have received your storyboards and manuscripts – thanks a lot. I will review them  this weekend as I did not have time while I was in Bruxelles. When we meet on Wednesday I will give you feedback, present the hardware and have you sign out the DV cameras. We will talk about how long time you need for shooting your movie and when we meet again for editing. Enjoy your weekend.

Screen Media – lecture 5

I’m back from Bruxelles and ready for some more screen media. We will continue with the student lectures and take on chapter 5 and 6 in the text book. We will also plan the remaining student lectures, so everyone has been up there. Looking forward to see you and have a great weekend.

AV Production – lecture 3

Work is moving along on your AV projects and pre-production is in full effect. This Wednesday is the deadline for your storyboards and manuscripts. There will be NO class lecture, so you work in your production groups and finish the documents. Please scan the documents, convert them to PDF and mail them to me for review. I will then let you know what I think and possibly ask you to make changes. Here are the slides from the classes:storyboard_skabelon1manuskript_skabelon12-forproduktion-i13-dramaturgi14-filmens-opbygning1

Most of you have now been able to get hold of the course book in either the 6th og 7th edition. This time we will kick-off the series of student lectures by covering chapter 3 on “Fictional and Dramatic Elements” and chapter 4 on “Visual Design”. I look forward to your presentations Monday - have a nice weekend :-)

Thanks for the emails regarding your production groups. On Wednesday you will work on your synopsis and hand it in to me. I will introduce you to some production theory and the production documents. You will then start work on your storyboard and manuscript. See you at 8.30

We are now ready to dig into the text book, so please read chapter 1 and 2 in “The art of watching films”. I will do a lecture on these chapters and then we will plan the student lectures to be held this semester. Have a nice weekend.

AV Production – lecture 1

YO – well it is time to kick off the course in AV Production and I hope that you are aware that this course takes place at Business Academy West on the corner of Niels Bohrs Vej and Spangsbjerg Kirkevej. You will not find room D13 at ÅUE…

I have not received a mailing list, so I have no way of contacting you directly. However, I will try and get a list on Monday when I have a MED 5 class at ÅUE.

Your first of five double lectures in this course will take place on Wednesday 17th of September between 8.30 and 11.30 – location is room D13 at Business Academy West. Enter the main door and turn left to access the D-wing. See you.
